The analysis has shown that the number of farms up to 15 ha of land is decreasing in Poland. These farms represent small production scale but the share of the intensive branches in cultivation is relatively high. They make use of live labour in the production process and are characterized by the low share of production inputs bought from outside of agriculture (mineral fertilizers, high protein feeds, etc.). The number of larger farms being mechanized by their hands is increasing. They substitute more expensive production factors by the cheaper ones. The production process is organized extensively on those farms but they produce intensively making use of sources stimulating agricultural production.
