Considering low persistency of the herbicides which have preventive usage in sugar beet, in the period of 1995-1996 the efficacy and the selectivity of the newest and standard herbicides in postemergence application was tested. The determined efficacy of the new herbicide on the bases of sulfonylurea in combination with phenmedifam, phenmedifam+ethofumesat and methamitron was 91-94. The usage of the new kletodim herbicide provides complete solution of the problem of Johnson grass (Sorghum halepense Pers.) in sugar beet.
