The results of the leek investigation in conditions of the moderate climate as well as the dry and damp subtropics have been analyzed. The initial material has been characterized by ten quantitative properties. The portion of genotypical and ecological variabilities in the total phenotypical variability has been revealed. It has been concluded that such a property as the the length of the whitened plant part can be improved by breeding methods.
