Seleccion familial bajo sequia en tres fuentes geneticas de maiz en la region de Chiautla, Puebla.
1988
Hernandez Salgado J.H. | Munoz Orozco A.
Three corn populations (local collection 134, early; Llera III, intermediate and Brachytic Synthetic, late) and several composites obtained by full-sib familial selection were studied at Tepalcingo, Morelos, under irrigation and drought conditions. Drought had the most severe effect on grain yield and this trait had a better association with ear number per plant, as compared to days to anthesis and silking, degree of wilting and number of green leaves per plant. Genotypes derived from collection 134 showed the smaller leaf area and the highest wilting sensitivity whereas those derived from Llera III showed and intermediate wilting sensitivity, the highest number of green leaves and the best grain yield. Days to silking and ear number per plant showed the major selection efects.
