Aflatoxin B1 was isolated from Aspergillus flavus grown on rice in the yield of 0.006 percent from chloroform, methanol, acetone based on molded rice. Extraction was carried out with chloroform. Stepwise purifications were performed first with column chromatography using silica gel as an absorbent then with thin layer chromatography on silica gel. By comparing its spectroscopic spectra and other physical properties of the compound with those reported in previous literatures, it was identified to be Aflatoxin B1.
