By means of biotests we studied the effect of the concentration of Acarac (amitraz) on the efficacy against pear psylla (Cacopsylla pyri L.). Adults were collected in orchards of the canton of Wallis (Switzerland) and the Lake Geneva region. In the laboratory adults were caged on pear seedlings for oviposition. The larvae were treated three weeks later. At present psylla are not resistant to amitraz. The concentration required for total mortality is not much smaller than the registered concentration used by farmers.
