Biochemical changes of some components in the blood of animals (rabbits) irradiated with microwaves (MW) were investigated. Healthy adult male rabbits, 6 months old, 2.5-3 kg of weight were used in the investigation. The total of 120 rabbits were divided into 12 groups that were irradiated once and totally in the following way: a)I=5 mW/cm;t=10 minutes, 20 minutes,40 minutes and 60 minutes b)I=10 mW/cm;t=10 minutes, 20 minutes,40minutes and 60 minutes c)I=20 mW/cm;t=10 minutes,20 minutes,40 minutes d)C=control group SGPT,SGOT,alkaline and acid phosphatase, alpha-amylase and the total cholesterol were within the physiological limits even after irradiation with subthermic doses (I=5 and 10 mW/cm;t=10-60 minutes). It was noticed that the quantity of SGOT and SGPT transaminases increased with the irradiation time. The alkali and acid phosphatase in blood of the irradiation time. The alkali and acid phosphatase in blood of the irradiated rabbits was mostly within the physiological level, or it was somewhat lower (but the lower limit of the alkali phosphatase was about 2 times lower than in the control, and the upper one was at the physiological level, i.e. as in the control). As for the acid phosphatase, the lower limit was on the physiological level, and the upper one was 1-2 times lower than in the control. Alpha-amylase was lower in all irradiated animals than in the control ones, and the impression was that the alpha-amulase level increased with increased MW doses. The total cholesterol in the irradiated animals varied within the limits of the values obtained in control animals.
