The qualitative examination of corn comprised determination of mass of 1000 grains, its fraction composition and concentrations of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and ash. The results proved positive influence of fertilization with straw in amount of 5 t/ha on crops of barley. At this dose crops of corn and straw increased, mass of 1000 grains increased, the percentage of fine quality grains rised but amount of screenings decreased. Application of straw in higher doses resulted in reduction of grain crops, mass of 1000 grains, of share of fine quality corn but in increase of screenings. Chemical analysis of grains proved that concentrations of nitrogen and potassium in grains was dependent upon the doses of straw in soil and upon size of grains. The fine quality grains comprised more potassium and phosphorus whereas nitrogen was in screenings. Fertilization with straw resulted in rise of organic carbon, nitrogen and potassium in soil.
