From the retest of 30 varieties of mung bean in the rainy season of 1986, yield, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod, days to first flowering, days to first ripening pod and percentage of lodged plants differed significantly among varieties. VC-2778 A, VC-1973 A and M-77 gave the highest yield. M-0157, BK-6 and VC-2778 A gave the largest seed size. MG-50-10A (G), M-0310 and U gave the highest number of seeds per pod. Cercospora leaf spot was found with the level of disease below 2. Powdery mildew and mung bean yellow mosaic virus were not found.
