2009
Saludes, R. B.
The UPLB [University of the Philippines Los Baños, College, Laguna, Philippines] National Agrometeorological Station collects daily weather data and other relevant agrometeorological information that would provide basis for the circulating agricultural advisories, extending its services to students, researchers, scientists, farmers and personnel from various industries. In order to enhance its services, upgrading of facilities was done by acquiring and installing a wireless weather monitoring equipment. The monitoring system consisted of sensors for measuring air temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, soil temperature, and leaf wetness' index. Compatible wireless transmitters and console receiver were also installed to facilitate data transmission and real-time weather monitoring. A weather database management system was also developed for collecting, retrieving, and presenting relevant weather information to various users. Detailed analysis, graphing and export of weather data were performed using Weatherlink Software.
