In this study an analysis of the capacity to produce biofuels from animal fats in Poland was presented. Level of availability of raw material was defined based on the volume of production of slaughter livestock and the quantity of animal fat consumption by humans. In Poland in 2006 there was 18,8 million heads of pigs and 5,6 million heads of cattle, which gave the mass of 363 thousand tons of beef and 2,16 million tons of pork in the hot post-slaughter weight. The fat content after taking into account losses in the cooling time was 361 thousand tons of which 233 thousand tons was destined to the consumption. The animal fat content in traditional fuels in Poland was estimated based on the own researches and data from literature. On the base of available data and its analysis was proposed location of the refinery of biofuels in Poland
