Line poultry hybrids that are now growing are genetically designed to have high productivity. The choice of hybrids is based o production parameters, while the health of poultry is ignore. Closed cages become the only space for a chicken to spend its lifetime, from the beginning until the exploitation. Extreme speed of their growth leads to leg weakness, because legs cannot keep up with the growth of the body. Weakened heart and lung function appear too, because the organs cannot follow the body growth. All this influenced the incidence of metabolic disorders, which grows rapidly. Most hens are bred in wire cages, throughout their entire productive life. In these circumstances, poultry suffers from legs and feet problems as well. Inadequate living conditions where poultry lives and increased demands of productions to keep up with, prorogued numerous health disorders referred to as technopathies. According to the law on the welfare of animals, published on the 2.6.2009. in The Official Gazette RS no. 41/2009: Technopathy is a health disorder caused during the process of keeping or reproduction of animals, and manifested as diseases and injuries, or behavior disorders. This paper describes technopathies that show up within different categories of poultry, and are caused by mistakes and functional disorders in making of objects or gear, and also metabolically disorders caused by selection of poultry by the criteria of high productivity.
