The author considers entrepreneurship as a development resource of Serbian (agro)economy. Entrepreneurship is especially important for the development of agribusiness, rural development and local economic development. Realizing the importance of entrepreneurship to the national economy many countries have accepted it as a vital element in the process of economic growth and development. Starting from that positive experiences the author proposes entrepreneurship as a development resource of the Serbian (agro)economy, that is in the transition process, and in the critical phase. the author discusses the socio-economic factors of entrepreneurship, emphasizing the strong link between entrepreneurship, agribusiness and multifunctional development of rural regions. The author explains, also, the connection of entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises.
