In the first half of the 90s, the regional differences in economic development by regions, counties and settlement types grew significantly. There is a significant difference between the two parts of Hungary. Analyzing region-level differences within Hungary, we can say that the difference between the most and the less developed region is 2.3-fold (calculation based on per capita GDP). This indicator is roughly adequate to the actual figures of the EU member states. We assume that notable regional differences in the economy and their constant presence are strictly reflected in the labour market as well.
