Highlights of the last year included: the number of contracting states went up from 67 to 71; the number of signatories increased from 72 a 77; three new requests for arbitration were recorded, an arbitration pending was closed by a unanimous vote and two others were abandoned after an amicable settlement between the parties; many new bilateral treaties have been concluded between States exporters and importers of capital; work on the proposed additional mechanism to the administration by the Secretariat of certain procedures not falling outside the scope of the Convention have reached the stage of proposals detailed to be submitted to the Directors at its twelfth annual session.
