Irrigation as a method of intensification of agricultural producing becomes more and more popular in the Republic of Belarus. Along with this, organization of irrigation process in agricultural enterprises supposes not only acquisition of irrigation equipment, but also development and substantiation of quality project documentation. One of the most important indexes, used for irrigation systems projecting, is water consumption (evapotranspiration) of agricultural plants. This index evaluates necessary irrigation intensiveness and appears as a basis of water management. The main characteristic for calculation of evapotranspiration is air temperature. Research of the influence of air temperature on water consumption of vegetables and perennial grasses has been made. The parameters of empirical formulae to calculate water consumption of vegetable crops (late white cabbage (Brassica oleracea convar. capitata var. alba L.); table beet (Beta vulgaris); carrot (Daucus carota)) and perennial grasses according to the average decade temperatures of air are determined. The tendency of increase of closeness of relations of crops water consumption with air temperatures when they move from the north of Belarus to the south is established. For estimation of water supply in plants it's suggested using biothermal coefficient equal to the algebraic sum of familiar indices of plants water mode.
