As a result of the study there were presented results of genetic and breeding researches in course of creation of rye (Secale cereale) F1 hybrids in Europe. There were stated and analysed the following basic stages of hybrid rye cultivars creation: development of self-pollinated lines, use of different types of cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) in rye, creation of CMS systems and ways of obtaining of hybrid seeds. The basic practical results of the breeding of hybrid rye cultivars in the Republic of Belarus were presented. Advantages and restrictions of hybrid cultivars use in the agricultural production were specified. There were presented results of a joint studies of the Scientific and Practical Center for Arable Farming of the NAS of Belarus and the breeding company KWS LOCHOW from Germany on creation of hybrid rye varieties LoBel-103; LoBel-203; LoBel-303 which exceeded the standard on 8,0-14,4 centner/ha. In course of the study there was presented a breeding and biological characteristic and yielding capacity of linear-population F1 hybrids winter diploid rye.
