Studies on breeds selection, density of planting, optimization of nutrition, foliar fertilizing, plant growth stimulants and application of crop protecting agents with the aim to increase potato (Solanum tuberosum) yields were realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus in 2006-2010. Due to mineral fertilizers on the background of 40 t/ha of organic were obtained high yield of potato. Depending on the variety, it ranged from 41,4 to 62,7 t/ha. Application of foliar fertilizing in the planting growing in the early phase of budding in the micronutrient mixes with fungicides and insecticides provided a significant increase in yield to 3,6 t/ha depending on variety. Using of mineral fertilizers and foliar feedings provided high quality of potato yield in all studied varieties, not less than 91%. On biochemical parameters with increasing doses of fertilizers were marked decrease in dry matter, starch, vitamin C and increased content of total protein and nitrates. Application of fertilizers rendered significant influence on the displaying of tuber rots during storage.
