The aim of this study was to identify the location of some seed borne barley pathogens in the grain using molecular methods based on standard PCR. After washing, kernels were dissected into lemma, pericarp, testa, endosperm and embryo which were individually tested by PCR. DNA of pathogens was detected in the highest amount in lemma, and occurred in lower amounts in the pericarp and embryo. The results showed that most of pathogens present in analysed seed does not penetrate through the testa into the endosperm.
