Final evaluation of yield and some characteristics of new sunflower hybrids in Zanjan

Sunflower hybrids can play an important role in increasing of oil seeds production.Following the program of sunflower genetic material enhancement, 10 new hybrids were selected as the best genotypes in a prilimary experiment in 2005. These genotypes together with Azargol and Armaviresky as checks, evaluated in an experiment based on RCB design for two years (2006-2007) in Khairabad station. Evry yeir during the growth period, usual agronomic treatment was applied and some agronomic, morphological characters such as date of emergence, budding,flowering, and physiological ripening ,plant height and head diameter were recorded in each plot For each genotype,yeild and seed weight was measured and their oil content was determined using NMR device. In the oil analysis lab in the Oil seed crop research dep. Simple and combined analysis of variance was done and means were compared using LSD method. Correlation between traits was determined. Results showed that the AHa T79-11 * R-82 combination which had the highest grain yield (4944 Kg/ha) , high oil yield(2283 Kg/ha) and suitable growing season,plant height and head diameter and seed weight,was the best genotypin this study Key Words: sunflower, Hybrid, Grain yield, Oil
