Markhoz (morghose)goats are colored (Brown blaok , white1) and distributed in Kurdish area of West ern Azarbaijan , Kurdestan and Kermanshah proviences and they are raised for fibre production. That is used for local textile. In this study 300 Markhoz male and female located at Sanandaj animal husbandry research station (ISO heads) and Kerman shah Mehrgan station (150 heads) based on age and color (brown, white and black) and sex. Right mide side fibre samples were collected by hand clipper. The measurments included: diameter ( J.1m), staple length (ern), medullatio~ (%) , vegetable matter (%), fibre fat (%), yield (%), pecentage of fine fibre (less than 30 J.1m ) , percentage of coarse fibre ( more than 30 J.1m), length of fibre (rnm), medullated, true and kemp fibre (%). Data were analysed using analysis of variance by Harvey model -1 and comparisions among groups were made by Duncan's multiple range test. The effect of age, sex and colire on fiber characteristics studued. The data of sanadaj station indicated that the mean fibre fat, yield, coarse and fine fibre percentage, diameter and coefficient of variation of fibre diameter were significantly ( P 0.01 ) different among age groups. Kemp percentage and medulation increased by age. The highest pecentage of medulation belonged to second age group. Effect of sex on mean true fibre and medulation was significant (PO.01) . Color coat had a significant ( PO.05) effect on yield and fine fibre. White goats had the highest mean yield, the least mean kemp and medulation . Color coat had no significant effect on fibre diameter , however the greatest diameter and its coefficient of variation belonged to the black and male goats. The highest amount of clean fibre was produced by white 4 year old goats. The results
