In pot experiment established in spring 2011 the release of mineral nitrogen and sulphur in soil with plants and witout plants was investigated. Release of these nutrients from the slowly acting fertilizer was compared to the release of nutrients from classic quickly soluble fertilizer. There was examined five treatments of fertilization with the same dose of nitrogen (1,65 g per pot) in the experiment. Contol treatment was not fertilized. As a growing substrate the mixture of soil: sand (5:1) was applied into experimental pots. Content of mineral nitrogen in soil with plants was higher when quickly soluble fertilizer Duslofert Extra was used for fertilization. The content of sulphur was higher in treatment where urea-formaldehyd condensate was applied. On the other side uptake of mineral nitrogen by plants was higher in treatments with slowly acting fertilizers, namely Duslocote and Duslocote with micronutrients, respectively. More considerable uptake of sulphur by strawberry plants was found out in treatment fertilized by Duslofert Extra fertilizer.
