The impact of Common Agricultural Policy on credit markets

The main objective of this monograph is to estimate the impact of the CAP subsidies on farm bank loans. First, a theoretical framework which summarizes the existing knowledge in the field of farm access to credit was created. Then, extending the models of Feder, Carter and Wiebe and Ciaian and Swinnen we analyze how subsidies may affect farm loans. Finally, employing a unique farm level FADN panel data the interaction between CAP subsidies and farm loans were esstimated.
