It is performed field trial, by which is compared the clinical effectiveness of the preparations Nitroxinil 34 % inj. sol. and Trodax 34 % Merial, by natural infection of sheeps and cattle with Fesciola hepatica. Criterion for the effectiveness of the preparations was the intenseinvasion of 14-th and 21-st day after the treatment, by determination of number of eggs per 1 gramme faesces. Of the performed field trials is obvious that by subcutaneous injection of sheep and cattle with Nitroxonil 34 % and Trodax inj. sol. in dose 10mg/kg bodyweight or 1ml./34kg. body weight, it is observed vastly decrease of the intenseinvasion, compared with the test groups of untreated animals and the difference of the effectiveness of the two preparations is not significant. This fact makes Nitroxinil 34 % inj. sol. and Trodax 34 % suitable for prophylactic dehelmintization against Fasciola hepatica.
