The helminth fauna of small insectivora mammals and rodents that lives along the main roads | Гельминтофауна мелких насекомоядных млекопитающих и грызунов, обитающих вдоль автомагистралей

Highways represent a serious part of ecosystems (fields and forests), wherethrough they are underlaid. Roads and neighboring territories are populated with wild animals possessing different types of parasitic organisms, including helminthes, dangerous for humans and domestic animals. Specific scientific interesting represents biodiversity of insectivorous animals and rodents, living along highways, and their parasites (helminthes). The research of the biodiversity of mentioned animals is presented in the article. 361 small insectivorous mammals and rodents of 13 species are caught along the main roads Brest-Kovel and Brest-Moscow in the Republic of Belarus (Brest district) during 2008-2010. Common shrew and common vole is dominant species. A total infection by helminthes of insectivorous mammals is 96,7% and infection of rodents – 63,5%. 51 species of helminthes are found in little animals. The dominant helminth species and species, representing the danger for human and domestic animals are established.
