Eficacia del triclabendazol en el tratamiento de las fasciolosis en búfalos de río infestados naturalmente | Efficacy of triclabendazole in the treatment of fascioliasis in naturally infested river buffalo

Английский. The effectiveness of Triclabendazole in the treatment of fascioliasis in buffaloes was evaluated. Seventy two fattening animals in Granma province were diagnosed between June and July. Animals that tested positive for fasciliasis were divided into two groups: 1) treated and 2) control. For the initial and final diagnosis (14 and 50 days post-treatment) the coprological sedimentation technique was used and final results were confirmed with the helmintological necropsy 70 after the administration of Triclabendazole. The herd prevalence of fascioliasis was calculated before the treatment according to Adserá (2010). The efficacy of Triclabendazole was calculated according to the fórmula employed by the International Association of Parasitology. A single dose of 12 mg/kg of live weight was used orally in fasting. Results showed that fascioliasis prevalence in the herd before the treatment was of 66.66 %. Triclabendazole exhibited an efficacy of 89 and 95 % at 14 and 50 days post-treatment, respectively. In the helmintological necropsy of the treated animals there were macroscopically no specimens of parasite in the liver. It is concluded that Triclabendazole showed good efficacy for the treatment of fascioliasis in buffloes naturally infested.

Para evaluar la eficacia del Triclabendazol en el tratamiento de la fasciolosis en búfalos se diagnosticaron coproparasitoscópicamente 72 animales destinados a la ceba en la provincia de Granma, Cuba, entre los meses de junio y julio Los animales que resultaron positivos a la fasciolosis se dividieron en dos grupos: 1) tratado y 2) control. Para el diagnóstico inicial y final (14 y 50 días postratamiento) se empleó la técnica coprológica de sedimentación y se confirmaron los resultados finales con la necropsia helmintológica transcurrido 70 días de la administración del Triclabendazol. Se calculó la prevalencia de fasciolosis del rebaño, antes del tratamiento, según Adserá (2010). La eficacia del Triclabendazol se calculó según la fórmula empleada en la asociación internacional de parasitología. Se usó dosis única de 12 mg/ Kg. de peso vivo, vía oral en ayuno. Los resultados arrojaron que la prevalencia de fasciolosis en el rebaño, antes del tratamiento, fue de 66.66 %. El Triclabendazol mostró una eficacia de 89 y 95 % a los 14 y 50 días postratamiento respectivamente. En la necropsia helmintológica de animales tratados no se observaron, macroscópicamente, ejemplares del parásito en hígado. Se concluye que el Triclabendazol mostró buena eficacia para el tratamiento de las fasciolosis en búfalos infestados naturalmente.
