Economic study of Egyptian agricultural forgign trade with the European Union countries in the light of the recent international economic variables.

Deep world variations happened through the last two decades leeds to obvious effects on the world countries specially the developing ones, which applied an economic reform policies affect its economics generally and its foreign trade sector specially. The study problem characterized with 11 milliard dollar deficit in the Egyptian Commercial trade balance, only %33 export import covering ratio, obvious fluctuations in the Egyptian agricultural exports, and a low market share for that exports in the E. U. countries markets. The study aimed at recognition both kind and geographical distribution for both Egyptian total and agricultural exports and its progression , also aimed to determined the main variables affecting these exports in its E.U. Countries markets , and analyzing its competitive situation in that markets. To achieve these objectives the study consists of five chapter includes a lot of results as follow. First chapter deals with theoretical framework in its first section and with review of literature in the second section. Second chapter gives presentation for Egyptian total and agricultural foreign trade and its progression. Results of that chapter indicates that E.U. countries market received about 39% of Egyptian agricultural exports at 2007,with about 2.4 milliard dollar deficit. Also clarified that exports of Rice , cotton, potatoes, oranges, onion represent about 75% of Egyptian agricultural exports in the same year. Third chapter interested in study the Egyptian agricultural trade with E.U. countries, its results indicates a positive commercial balance for Egypt, and about 104.5% export import covering ratio. Results of that chapter shows also that %90 of Egyptian agricultural exports concentrate at Italian, Turkish, United Kingdom, German, Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Spanish, French, Slovenian markets, exports of Rice Potatoes, Green beans represent consequently about %21 , %14, %13 , %9, %7, %7, %5 and %4 of Egyptian agricultural exports to E.U. Countries. These exports tends to increase with some fluctuations through study period. Fourth Chapter includes estimations of aggregate and individual foreign trade demand functions for the previous crops in order to important E.U. markets. Results generally clarified that Egyptian exports price, export price, of some competitive countries, gross import expenditure for agricultural commodities, population and national income .Fifth chapter analyzed the competitive situation of Egyptian export crops through calculating some indicators its results shows the following. -Egyptian exports have generally a relative appearance advantage and price some competitive advantage with respect to some competitive countries for each crop. -Instability of both export quantities and values for all crops and reasonable stability for prices. -Apparent low market share for oranges, Grapes, Green beans, and a reasonable market share for rice, potatoes, dried onion. -A very low market penetration rate for all crops in its principle imported marked at E.U. countries.
