La resistance a la secheresse du soja. II-Etude des reactions varietales a un deficit hydrique

Английский. In this study, varietal differences in the response of soybean to a drought stress were observed and characters linked with drought resistance level were investigated. Fifteen indeterminate varieties, from different geographical origins and maturity groups, were submitted to two water treatments, using a drought box procedure (1 m x 1 m x 0,5 m, 36 plants per box) : by the first treatment, all the water needs of the plants were satisfied and, by the second one a drought stress was induced from flowering time until maturity, by the mean of a water supply half of the first. Every two weeks after the beginning of flowering, five plants were harvested in each variety and each water treatment : measurements of the main canopy and stem morphological characteristics were made. At maturity thirty plants of each variety and each water treatment were harvested and the principal yield components were measured. A drought resistance index was established, based on the ratio between the grain yields in the two water treatments. The effects of the drought stress on canopy characteristics were studied by the mean of a principal components analysis : different behaviours were observed between susceptible and resistant varieties. Characteristics linked to the drought resistance index were investigated by the way of a stepwise regression analysis : results showed the importance for drought resistance of two phenomena, the leaf cellular growth and the assimilates translocations.

Cette étude a pour but d’apprécier les différences pouvant exister dans les réactions de variétés soumises à la sécheresse et de rechercher des caractères liés à la résistance au déficit hydrique. Pour cela, 15 variétés indéterminées, d’origine et de précocité différentes, ont été choisies comme modèles et soumises en bacs de végétation à 2 régimes hydriques, l’un satisfaisant les besoins en eau de la plante, l’autre introduisant, à partir du début de la floraison, une contrainte hydrique. Des prélèvements ont été effectués à 5 reprises en cours de végétation permettant la mesure des principales caractéristiques foliaires. A maturité, la production totale et les composantes du rendement ont été déterminées, permettant l’établissement pour chaque variété d’un indice de résistance à la sécheresse. L’évolution des caractéristiques du feuillage et des composantes du rendement sous l’influence d’un déficit hydrique a été étudiée par des analyses en composantes principales. Des différences de comportement entre variétés sensibles et variétés résistantes ont été observées. Des caractères liés à l’indice de résistance à la sécheresse ont été recherchés par un calcul de régression multiple pas à pas. Les résultats obtenus montrent l’importance dans la résistance au déficit hydrique des phénomènes de croissance cellulaire et de translocation au niveau du feuillage.
