This research was conducted to study the effect of grazing (sheep) and optimizing the daily grazing time on the decreasing of hypera postica Population in alfalfa farm. In a randomize competently block experiment four treatments (٠, ٥, ١٠ and ١٥ days of grazing) with three replications ١٨ male lambs were used for three consecutive years. The fresh forage as well as dry forage were recorded and sampled for crude protein (CP) and acid detergent fibre (ADF) measurement. The population of hypera postica larva was determined. Results showed that fresh and dry forage yield was significantly (p٠,٠٥) increased (٢٣١٣,٣ and ٢٣٥٤,٩ g/m٢; ٦٠١,٢ and ٦٢٤,٦ g/m٢ respectively). Population of hypera postica larva was reduced as a result of grazing although the this reduction was not statistically significant. The content of CP and ADF were not affected by the treatments. It can be concluded that a period of ١٠ day grazing may be useful for forage yield and pest control.
