An introduction to the rangeland plants of Iran

Iran has several species because of climatic and geographic features. The species grow in rangelands, forests, deserts and other specific habitats (mountain and steppe types). Biodiversity identifying of these habitats helps us in macro management and sustainable uses. In order to, in this research we prepared list of rangeland plants on the base of available resources. There are 440 range taxa that 235 of them are monocotyledons, and 204 of them are dicotyledons. For each taxon presented information included scientific name, synonyms, common names, Persian names, botanical characteristics, phenology, geographical distribution and habitat features. Also, palatability of the plants determined base on available resources. Localities were shown in Iran's province map.
