First experiment: During one year study, plasma samples were obtained from 14 non-pregnant Sanjabi ewes. Progesterone hormone concentrations were measured using Radioimmunoassay. This experiment showed that reproductive activity in the Sanjabi ewes begins in early September and the average length of estrus cycle was about 19 days. Second experiment: paired ovaries were collected from non pregnant Sanjabi sheep reproductive tracts at a local abattoir. Follicles were classified into three size categories as small (SF, 3.0 mm), medium (MF, 3.0 - 5.0 mm) and large (LF, l 5.0 mm) follicles and the number of follicles in each category was recorded. Statistical comparisons indicated no significant difference between right and left ovaries in terms of ovarian weight, number of follicles with different dimensions, number, diameter, weight and volume of corpus luteum (CL). The most mean numbers of CL are related to of October, November and December (respectively 17/50 , 27/84 and 16/42 , p0.05). The most frequency rates of ovaries ipsiateral to the CL (OIC) was related to November (p0.01). Significant positive correlations were found between the weight of intact OIC and number of LF and MF (respectively, r
