Experience of dairy goat breeding in the Republic of Mari El

The task is to create a number of goats in the type of Saanen breed in the Republic of Mari El and to consolidate their biological and productive qualities of inbreeding selection. There were studied biological and productive qualities of local goats of the Russian white breed bred in the republic. Improvement of local goats by a method of absorbing crossing was conducted at introduction of Saanen breed bucks of a domestic reproduction. It is defined the desired type of dairy goats for use on the large farms with machine milking. Thus, the creation of milk goat breeding by improvement of the local goats by Saanen breed of domestic reproduction is the most effective way to the formation of the domestic milk type, which is well adapted to local conditions and meets the requirements of market economy.
