The study of organic manure usage to decrease of nitrogen consumption in forage and grain maize (Zea mays )hybrids

To evaluate the efficiency of organic and chemical fertilizers on the agronomic characteristics and yield components two variety of maize Single cross of early (KSC704) and late dawn (KSC260) a field experiment was carried out during 2012 cultivation period at Agricultural Research Center of Khorasan-e- Razavi. Nine fertilizer treatments of compost (16 and 32 ton ha-1), cow manure (24and 48 ton ha-1) and poultry manure (19 and 9.5 ton ha-1) and urea (225 and 450 kg ha-1) and control treatment as main factors and two varieties of forage maize as sub-factors were arranged as split plot under a a randomized complete block design in three replications.Results indicated tha application of fertilizers showed significant differences on ear diameter, ear length, ear height and tassel length at P5% and time between pollen, number of days from planting to anthesis (Rise Tassel), total number of leaves per plant, forage yield (biomass) and (dry biomass) at P1%.The hiegest dry and wet yield with an average 41.70 and 84/52 ton.ha-1, respectively were ochived in 32 ton.ha-1 of compost in comparison to 16/49 and 15/39 ton.ha-1 of control treatment. Furthermore, 32 ton.ha-1 of compost in all traits except tassel length showed more efficiency than the other fertilizers. Two varieties except for era height and average number of ear in plant had siginificat differences (P1%). Based on the results it seems that application of organic fertilizers impoved agronomic characteristics and yield components in comparison to chemical fertilizer fro both varieties of single cross and are suitable for sustainable agriculture.
