Collection, identification and stroing seeds of medicinal plants in order to gene bank development in Bushehr province.

Germplasm maintenance of different Medicinal plants species is the most important goal in Gene bank managngements. So, various accessions were collected from different regions of Busher province. Aaccording to ecological and climatic conditions plants were harvested and collected from natural areas. The main aim of this project was protection of imortant and endangerous species in gene bank germplasm. So, like other provinces the design of collection, Identification and seed protect of medicinal plants was done during 1382-1385 in Bushehr province. In this project, Bushehr province wss divided into four regions and seed collections were done from one region in a year. After drying the seeds, one specimen was put in nylon bag with characteristics card. The samples were sent to the research institute of forest and rangeland. During 4 years, 183 specimens belonging to 17 Families, 29 genera and 38 species were collected and identified. The results showed that families lamiaceae and Asteracese had higher numerical ratio.
