In order to study on the damaged caused by Scrobipalpa ocellatella to quantity and quality of sugar beet crops this research was performed in Mahidasht agricultural station , Kermanshah Province. The first symptoms of the pest activity was observed during late May, 2010 when the plants were at 6-leaved growth stage and in 2011 these symptoms were observed in late June at 8-leaved growth stage. Based on the results, contamination begins since the early stages of plant growth but it`s damage until late June is rather low (less than 5%) and it`s increasing with higher temperature until late August it reaches more than 50% . The average of plants contamination reaches to highest amount at harvest time which during 2 years of study were 62% and 82/5% respectively. Based on statistical analysis during two years there was no significant difference between weight of healthy and contaminated roots. Qualitative indices were also investigated and based on the results for gross sugar percent and mean of obtainable sugar content the difference between infected and not infected roots the difference was not significant. All Lita pest samples gathered from various parts of Kermanshah province were identified as Scrobipalpa ocellatella.
