The soybean cyst nematode (SCN), Heterodera glycines Ichinohe, found in most soybean growing regions in the world, is considered the most economically damaging pathogen of soybean worldwide. Race or HG Type tests conducted on 16 field populations. The differential lines consisted of seven lines Peking, PI 88788, PI 90763, PI 437654, PI 209332, PI 548316 and PI 89772 along with Lee 74 as susceptible cultivar. The results showed race 3 or HG Type 0 was found to be the most commonly-occurring race in Iran with 93.75% frequency, while race 6 or HG Type 7 was found in 6.25% of tested populations. Most populations of H. glycines parasitized PI 88788 and PI 548316. Race 3 is the most common race in soybean growing area in the world. The frequency of races is still limited to two races in Iran that may be related to using of non resistant cultivars in soybean fields.
