The paper studies the trends, patterns and problems of the world system of food security and their impact on food security of different countries. The trends of the development and outlook of the global food system, analysis of the determinants of potential threats and challenges of our time in the sphere of food security, as well as the measures of counter them are outlined. The dynamics of sustainability in the areas of food security, especially its security in the post-crisis period is defined. Potential threats of food security are identified and the measures necessary to prevent their occurrence are justified. Possible variants of the solving of food security problems are enumerated; forecast of global development of agriculture is made. Main directions of substantiation of national food security of the Republic of Belarus are enumerated. Food security of the countries of Commonwealth of Independent States (Former Soviet Republics) is analyzed.
