The paper summarizes the results of the researches aimed on the use of a dietary supplement of crushed caraway fruits to increase productivity, slaughter and meat quality of young pigs for fattening. Material on assessing the influence of the productive use of additives in the diet of pigs is presented; the definition of the optimal dosage and the degree of influence on the transformation of feed nutrients in pork products is given. Conditions determining meat productivity of pigs are enumerated; breeding conditions of pig growing are analyzed. Organization of swine fattening, theoretical and practical significance of flavoring in animal nutrition is substantiated. The role of gustatory and olfactory sensations in the life of animals is evaluated; benefits of using of the feed supplements of plant origin in animal dietary are analyzed; place and the role of phytogenic additives in productivity of livestock and poultry is examined. Economic efficiency of the aromatic additives is evaluated; the development of the standards of input of biologically active additives of plant origin in composition of swine feeds is offered.
