Collection linseed forms the base for fundamental and applied research in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. Today in the catalogue of the collection contains more than 160 samples. Using the collection primarily as the starting material for selection requires determination of the spectrum of variation of characters and the identification of genes with the required characteristics. With this aim traditionally an estimation of the collection is carried out to identify the range of variability of the gene pool by productivity, early maturity, seed quality, and resistance to Fusarium wilt. Study shows a collection of linseed basic biological and economically useful features: the length of the growing season of 1000 seeds weight, yield, resistance to lodging and Fusarium wilt. Defined scope of crop accessions. Identified sources for the selection of individual characters and their complex (AL-340, 3871, Deta, Mikael, Spartacus, Newland, Nameless (KF-1404), Resistant).
