Higher aquatic vegetation directly influences regime and productivity of the water reservoirs and determines the following characteristics: creation of green biomass, biofiltration and purification of water, enrichment of the water with oxygen, formation of the habitat of water animals, especially fishes. Therefore, fish productivity of the water reservoirs (lakes and ponds) depends greatly on species composition, area and structure of macrovegetation (macrophytes). The number of macrovegetation, providing optimal functioning of fish ponds represents 25-35%. The article examines the higher aquatic vegetation richness and frequency of species occurrence in the 20 ponds of the Vilejka fish farm. 41 species of macrophytes are discovered in the studied ponds, two types of which – pure white lily and creeping buttercup – are in need of preventive protection. The distribution of macrophytes in ponds according the environmental groups is studied. Macrophytes database with photos is created.
