In order to determine the adaptation of bread wheat genotypes, 16 promising lines along with cultivars: Chamran and Aflak, two commercial cultivars as controls, were studied in six experimental field stations; Zabol, Ahwaz, Darab, Dezful, Iranshahr, Khorramabad, for two successive cropping seasons (2012 –14), using replicated complete block design (RCBD) with four replications. These lines were also studied for their reaction to major diseases in known hot spots for Yellow Rust (YR), Leaf Rust (LR), Septorios etc. in special diseases nurseries, under natural and artificial inoculating conditions. Analysis of variance was performed to study the main effects of genotypes (G), year (Y), location (L) as well as the interaction between these factors. To study the adaptation and yield stability (rank method, mean and standard deviation of rank (R and SDR) mean yield and also AMMI analysis were used. Lines with higher grain yield, high adaptability and yield stability, desired agronomic performance and tolerance/resistance to major diseases in southern warm and dry zone were identified. Three of the new lines were superior to Chamran with a mean grain yield of 6119 Kg/ha, mean Rank of 8.9, Standard Error of Rank 5.12, Yield Ratio Index of 101. Therefore three promising lines including S-91-6, S-91-13 and S-91-15 were selected for evaluation in on-farm conditions
