Energy properties of pellets, briquettes and charcoal

The goal of this thesis was to obtain and analyze the samples of solid biofuels, specifically pellets, briquettes and charcoal. It is a noble biofuels, for the production of which is a raw material modified so that fuel can be normalized size, length and uniformity of burning and optimum shape for the transport and storage. On the obtained samples were determined and then compared the following characteristics: relative humidity, calorific value, ash content, and on the pellets the ratio of fine particles too. These are the essential characteristics by which a consumer can assess the quality of the fuel. Procedure for the determination of these parameters can be found in chapter methodology of laboratory work. Based on the founding of calorific values of each sample was taken calculate of the fuel consumption and heating costs in the model of energy consumption of 100 GJ per year.
