The results of selecting and testing the new black glutinous rice DH6

The pure-line rice variety -H6 was selected from the naturaly mutation of Cam Pe glutinous rice in Thanh Hoa province. It is a temperature sensitive, short duration (from 127 to 135 days in spring season and from 105 to 115 days in summer season) with good phenotype, i.e. semi-dwarf (from 115 to 120 cm), sturdy culms and small V-shaped leaves. DH6 is slightly susceptible to blast, bacterial leaf blight sheath blight disease and brown plant hopper. DH6 has high yield of 5.20-6.08 tons/hectare and good quality, i.e. brown rice 83.7-84.2%, and accepted cooking quality with stickyness and tasting get 4 point and amylose content 3.79%.
