The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors affecting the number of participation in contract cultivation of Korean vegetable farmers. This paper examines the impacts of farm characteristics on the number of times that participated in contract cultivation, using the count data model for the period of 2011~2015. To rectify excessive amount of '0'compared to the assumed distribution in the count data, zero-inflation Poission model is employed. The results find that the number of cultivated contracts is higher as the number of contractual arrangements in terms of prices is changed. Thus, standardized and stable contracts can be an incentive for farmers to participate in contract cultivation. It was found that the number of contract cultivations increased when dealing with agricultural cooperatives, kimchi and food companies. The number of contract cultivation of winter cabbage was significantly higher than that of garlic onion, but that of spring radish was lower than that of garlic onion.
