The aim of the study was to evaluate durum wheat (Triticum durum Desf.) varieties in North-Western region of Latvia. The experimental field trials were conducted for two years (2015, 2016) at the Stende Research Centre of AREI testing seven durum wheat varieties. Grain yield (t haE-1) was evaluated at 14% grain humidity and 100% purity. Measured quality trait was protein content. Data was processed using analysis of variance. Varieties ‘Malvadur’ and ‘Miradur’ showed the highest mean yield in both experiment years: 7.51 t haE-1 and 7.08 t haE-1, respectively. The protein content of all varieties corresponded to requirements for durum wheat of milling company AS „Dobeles Dzirnavnieks” in both years. Varieties ‘Malvadur’ and ‘Duroflavos’ showed the highest mean protein content: 13.90% and 14.10%, respectively.
