Evaluation of different fungicides and plant extracts for the management powdery mildew of pea caused by Erysiphe pisi
2016
Iqbal, U.
Pea (Pisum sativum L.) occupies a famous position In the vegetables and important component of leguminaceae family. Pea crop is drastically affected by a number of biotic and abiotic factors. Among biotic factors Erysiphi pisi is a serious threat' to the crop causing huge yield lasses 25-50% in the crop in term of quality and quantity. Out of twenty varieties/lines during 2015-2016 there was no line found to exhibit immunity and highly resistant against powdery mildew of pea. Only one line No-380 showed resistant response against Powdery mildew. One variety Collection Early showed moderately resistance, two varieties/lines P-09 and Sir Sabz moderately susceptible response, seven verities/lines showed susceptible response and out of twenty rests of nine varieties/lines showed highly susceptible to powdery mildew. Field investigations were made to study the influence of advanced pea varieties/lines for yield potential and integrated disease management including fungicides and plant extracts against powdery mildew caused by Erysiphe pisi. The Variety Sir-Sabz exhibiting the maximum plant height and VIP gave extensively higher number of grains per five pods while Azad P-1 showed the maximum No. of pods/ five plant. About 100 seed weight, Sir-Sabz showed the maximum No. of 100 seed weight and maximum dry seed yield. From all the treatments Score 250EC 1.0 ml/liter showed highly significant result to minimize the disease 96.15% as compared to Bayleton 91.84% and Topsin-M 89.96%. From plant extract Tobacco 5% showed highly significant reduction of disease 54.01 % as compared to neem and moringa.
