Synthesis and applications of triazine based cross linking agents for cellulosic fabric

The cellulose fiber is one of the excellent natural materials that have wide application in different productions. Cellulosic fabric is most commonly used but it has a serious disadvantage of being wrinkle badly after washing. This problem can be overcome by a chemical treatment known as durable press (DP) finishing. The present investigation was undertaken to synthesize a non formaldehyde triazine based cross linked agents and to analyze its applications on the cellulosic fabric. The effect of different parameters like temperature, time, pH, L:R etc was studied for the application on dyed fabric. To analyze the quality of synthesized cross linking agent, it was analyzed by analytical techniques like spectroscopic and chromatographic methods. After applications of these agents different quality assurance tests like crease angle recovery, length and width wise shrinkage, abrasion resistance, absorbency, fastness tests and colorimetry values (L*, a*, b*, c*, & h*) was performed. The results thus acquired were justified by using statistical analysis.
