The impact of the implemented lanthanum on the chemical composition of barley crops in conditions of vegetation experiment | Влияние внесенного в почву лантана на химический состав растений ячменя в условиях вегетационного опыта

In conditions of the vegetation experiment carried out under artificial illumination, assessed was the ability of lanthanum (La of accumulating in leaves and stems of barley and influencing the elemental composition, biomass and chlorophyll and carotinoides content. The separate studies allowed investigating the impact of La on root length and coleoptiles of barley seedlings. La in the form of chloride or acetate was applied on the basis of 0, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 mg/kg of air-dry soil. It is shown that La3+ is able to inhibit significantly the growth of rootlet if its concentration will exceed 10 mg/l and simultaneously stimulate the growth of coleoptile at the concentration exceeding 50 mg/l. The vegetation experiment showed the significant accumulation of La in the leaves and stems beginning from the concentration of 20 and 50 mg/kg, respectively, of La applied to soil. It is marked that the accumulation of La in leaves is higher than in stems. A significant decrease in the chlorophyll and carotinoides in the variant with applying 100 mg/kg of La as compared to the control and the accumulation of ground biomass at the concentration of the applied La of 100–200 mg/kg was detected. The accumulation of biomass, which was revealed in the vegetation experiment, correlates with the stimulating impact of La on the elongation of coleoptile of seedlings, which, taking into account the simultaneous decrease in the root length, may be explained by hormonal processes. The accumulation of La in leaves is associated with a decrease in the content of P, K, Cu, Fe and Mg and an increase in the amount of Ca and Mg in leaves and Si in stems. The results obtained may be useful for re-assessment of the security of applying rare-earth elements in agriculture and for identification of the influence of La on the biochemical processes in plants.

В условиях вегетационного опыта, проведенного при искусственном освещении, оценивали способность лантана (La) накапливаться в листьях и стеблях растений ячменя и влиять на элементный состав, биомассу и содержание хлорофиллов и каротиноидов. В отдельных экспериментах изучали воздействие La на длину корней и колеоптилей проростков ячменя. La в виде хлорида или ацетата вносили из расчета 0, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 мг/кг воздушно-сухой почвы. Показано, что La3+ способен эффективно угнетать рост корешка при концентрации в растворе выше 10 мг/л и одновременно стимулировать рост колеоптиля при концентрации выше 50 мг/л. В вегетационном опыте отмечено значимое накопление La в листьях и стеблях, начиная с концентрации внесенного в почву La 20 и 50 мг/кг соответственно. Элемент значимо больше накапливался листьями, чем стеблями. Обнаружено значимое уменьшение содержания хлорофиллов и каротиноидов в варианте с внесением 100 мг/кг La по сравнению с контролем и накопление надземной биомассы при концентрации внесенного La 100–200 мг/кг. Накопление биомассы, обнаруженное в вегетационном опыте, согласуется со стимулирующим влиянием La на удлинение колеоптиля проростков, что, учитывая одновременное уменьшение длины корешка, может объясняться гормональными процессами. Накопление La в листьях ассоциировано с уменьшением содержания P, K, Cu, Fe и Mg и увеличением количества Ca и Mn в листьях и Si в стеблях. Полученные результаты могут быть полезны для переоценки безопасности применения редкоземельных элементов в сельском хозяйстве и для установления влияния La на биохимические процессы в растениях.
