This paper aims to present the main objectives and principles of the RIL techniques. Research on the impact of logging on forest ecosystems are essential for the promotion of silvicultural techniques, including logging, compatible with sustainable forest management. For this reason, the second part of the paper presents a synthesis of the most important results of research carried out on the impact of logging on the remaining stand and forest dynamics
