Although Republic of Srpska has favorable agroecological conditions, production and yield of potatoes are not on a sufficient level. During the past couple of years there has been a significant decrease of surfaces where potatoes are cultivated, and average yields did not increase. The reasons for low potato yield are bad seedlings, extensive production and extreme weather conditions. Our experiments, where certain sorts of potato reached high yields, are proof that Republic of Srpska can achieve excellent results in potato production.
